Cinque Terra

So, this day was an adventure that didn't turn out as planned.  First, we wish our GPS had a "No! You idiots!  Turn around and go another way, feature."  It doesn't and the trip to Cinque Terra took a lot longer than it should.

Still, we got there, and found a neat place for lunch--overlooking the Mediterranean.

After lunch, we met a really nice Bernese Mountain Dog.  Here's proof:

During lunch, it started to rain.  Hard.  So, instead of walking along the spectacular cliffs (over 1,000 feet above the crashing waves) we did a driving tour.  It was more exhilarating than any Disney ride, because there was no guarantee that we wouldn't crash over the side of the super high cliffs.  Several of us closed our eyes at times, and most of us screamed at some point.  There is a sense of having survived that trip!

Safely home, there was more swimming--see cute photo of cousins in pool.

David made a spectacular lamb dinner, and Dan could not stop himself from helping with elements of it, although he takes no credit.

After dinner, David and I (Jacqueline) went on a gorgeous walk up the mountain from our house.
